Council Member Cheryl Parkinson

Cheryl has lived in Washington Terrace since 1997 and raised her family here. She grew up in South Ogden and graduated from Bonneville High School. She continued her education at Weber State University receiving a  Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a Master's degree in Education, and an endorsement in Gifted and Talented Education.

She taught school in Weber District for 36 years, with 25 of those years at Roosevelt Elementary in the Terrace where she loved her students and their families. While teaching, she was involved in leadership in the local teachers' association as president of the Ogden/ Weber UNISERV and vice president of the Weber Education Association as well as a board member. She served multiple years as a delegate to the Utah Education Association House of Delegates and the National Education Association Representative Assembly. She retired from teaching in 2022.

She currently teaches piano lessons, watches grandchildren, sings with the Wasatch Master Choral and with the Lars Yorguson Singers, as well as serves in her church and community. She loves spending time with her family, camping, music, sports, sewing/crafting, and traveling.

Cheryl is pleased to have this opportunity to serve her community in Washington Terrace.
